The meals and breakfast are excellent, the view is beautiful with a look at the Karawanken, but the bed isn’t supportive for back sleepers.

The property is well maintained and the staff are very friendly; the restaurant food is highly recommended, and there are no complaints to mention.

The hotel sits amid lovely nature between Wörther- and Keutschachersee, free from street noise, with plenty of parking right next to the building. From the large terrace you can see a fantastic view toward Slovenia and the well‑kept gardens featuring ornate fountains and fruit trees. The exterior is attractive, though a few façade stones are a bit crumbling. The staff may not be fully trained yet, yet they compensate with effort and friendliness. Dinner on the restaurant terrace was tasty and relaxing. The kitchen garden with a greenhouse supplies the hotel with fresh vegetables, fruit, and herbs. During our three days we stayed in double rooms 18 and 3; after a suggested change due to repairs, both rooms were extremely noisy with almost no sound insulation to adjacent rooms. Every door shut, toilet flush, shower, TV, and even neighbors’ snoring could be heard loudly. This was unprecedented for us. Only when the whole block seemed quiet did we manage to fall asleep, but the mattresses were sagging and the bed creaked. Cleanliness was not outstanding; room 3 had spider webs in corners and on the ceiling. Shower water pressure was good, yet the temperature fluctuated unpleasantly, likely fixable with a thermostat valve. We appreciate a touch of rustic charm, but it shouldn’t compromise basic hotel functions. The kitchen odor was also intrusive, seeping through the stairwell into the hallway and sometimes into the room.

The reception is welcoming, the location is great, the breakfast is top‑quality, and the overall experience is excellent—once we’re in the area we’ll return with our eyes closed.
