The staff kindly explained everything, even handed us charcoal for the BBQ, and let the kids touch the chickens, so the whole family made great memories. I’ll definitely come back for another stay 😊. The only thing that could be better is that the futon could be a bit thicker.

Unlike the usual comfort of a city hotel, the relaxed vibe of a traditional farmhouse surrounded by mountains is just perfect. It was cool enough in the summer that we didn’t need an AC, and the toilet is a “bio toilet” but surprisingly odor‑free—life hacks at their best. The owner lives right next door, which feels reassuring, and the generous allowance for our dog to roam indoors is appreciated. We also played by the nearby river and felt refreshed. We had no issues, but if you’re used to a powerful AC, a hot day might be a bit confusing; still, the greenery makes the heat bearable.

It sat in a stunning, densely forested valley, and the house had a fantastic traditional atmosphere. The couple running the guesthouse were lovely and warm, and every interaction felt genuine. Breakfast was local and traditional, with eggs from the proprietor’s own chickens that were the freshest I’ve ever tasted and turned wonderfully frothy when mixed with rice. It was by far the best Airbnb we stayed at during our trip to Japan, and I hope to return soon for a longer stay. From Emma and Laura to our hosts: much love from Scotland! We still think about you and Noah! The only downside was that we only stayed one night when we should have stayed a week.

The hosts were amazing—so kind and open, it was truly heartwarming, and I’m very grateful! They showed me around the city and introduced me to their chickens. The ingredients we bought from them were delicious, and the property was cozy with a fireplace. I had an amazing time and can only recommend it.
