The location was superb in the heart of Getsemaní, yet on a quiet street. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms very comfortable, and the staff welcome was fantastic. Breakfasts are included, delicious, and huge – definitely worth it. Nothing was wrong, everything was perfect.

Most staff were friendly, breakfast at the attached café was great and included in the room rate (though I found the choice between orange juice or coffee a bit odd). The room was simple but stylish, with fresh flowers and quality bedding, and it was well cleaned. The nearby restaurant Beso was excellent for dinner. On arrival we were stopped by a metal grill door locked with a chain; after ringing the bell a staff member let us in, but they couldn’t find our prepaid record, which was a bit of a rough welcome. The bathroom was clean but had a lingering unpleasant smell around the toilet, and mosquitoes kept appearing in the room – probably normal for tropical Cartagena. The plunge pool was more of a decorative feature and not really usable; it was right next to the rooms, so I didn’t feel comfortable using it or the sun loungers. To leave the building in the afternoon or evening you have to ask a staff member to unlock the chain on the front door with a key, which felt unsafe in an emergency. Getsemaní was louder than expected; the first night we were kept awake by nearby music until about 3 am. One night we returned to find a homeless man sleeping across the entrance, which felt uncomfortable while we waited for staff to let us in. It’s not the hotel’s fault but worth noting about the area. I rarely leave negative reviews, but felt it was important to be honest because we were quite disappointed with our stay.

Bonito diseño, muy confortable. Gran ubicación y excelente desayuno. Lady y el resto del personal súper amables y atentas. Mosquitos en el patio, situación normal por el clima. Sugeriría ofrecer repelente por parte del hotel
