The owners are warm and always ready to help, and breakfast is made fresh every morning with seasonal goodies; the outdoor kitchen is well‑stocked and easy to use. It’s a short walk to the lake, which is a big plus.

“Schade daß wir nur auf der Durchreise waren”

Even though we only stopped for a night in the annex, the welcome felt more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel check‑in. Our basic, budget room hit the mark for what we paid, and the surrounding park‑like garden matches the villa‑style main building perfectly, still holding much of its original charm. The owners do most of the renovation themselves, and you can see the love they put into each room—if you want extra comfort, book in the main house.

We’ve returned to Haus Marianne several times; each visit starts with the same pleasant greeting and the location is spot‑on—quiet yet just a two‑minute walk into Millstatt’s centre. Nothing really changed, which for us means everything is just right.
