The guesthouse feels like a family-run place, always friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet is outstanding, and the location is fantastic—close to shops and the starting point nearby.

The little town of Gmund was a highlight—quiet and not crowded, which made our visit special. We dined downtown, just a few steps from the hotel, and the location was spot on. Breakfast cost $63 for the three of us, a bit steep for us, but we indulged in plenty of coffee and a wide selection of dishes, leaving us fully satisfied. The room, however, didn’t match the photos; we had booked a triple room on the top floor, expecting a balcony or river view, but it faced the road with only one window, making it a bit dark and stuffy.

Everyone from the staff to the owner was welcoming and helpful, and both dinner and breakfast were top quality. The only downside was that the overall price felt a touch high.
