“Never been harassed more by hotel staff in my entire life.”
I didn’t enjoy much of this place, but at least it was clean. I was on a business trip and when I finally got into my room the fire alarm started blaring. I ran out to find someone and the staff just told me “don’t worry about it” and left me hanging. Later that night the phone in my room kept ringing, and I had no idea who was calling—apparently a guest was trying to check in, but there was no one at the front desk. I tried to grab something from the vending machine, which had almost nothing in it, and a staff member asked if I was a guest, even though I was in my pajamas, socks, and holding my key card. When I got back, my key didn’t work, so I went down to get a new one and they didn’t even verify my ID before handing me a new card. The hotel had just doubted I was a guest, then gave me a key without confirming it was for my room—quite unsettling. The noise was insane; bangs, shouting, and stomping all night, and it seemed like my door was being tampered with multiple times. I discovered there were no internal locks, so anyone could just use a key. The next day after my meeting I returned to the parking lot and a staff member yelled at me for parking where he claimed he was “leafblowing,” even though I had parked there the same spot in the morning. It was rude and jarring. That night the phone kept ringing, so I just let it go because I didn’t want to deal with anyone anymore.
