Located in Bratislava's historic Old Town, Hotel Tatra offers spacious, non-smoking rooms with free WiFi, approximately 300 meters from the Presidential Palace. The hotel features a restaurant, Stara Bratislava, serving Slovak and international cuisine, and a bar with a large selection of drinks. Two congress halls and two salons accommodate events and meetings. On-site parking and a garage are available for guests.

A room that was super cozy with a bed that slept like a dream and an air conditioner that actually worked. I felt totally safe and the place was practically a stone’s throw from the old town, so everything I wanted to see was right there. Breakfast was a massive spread, heavily leaning on Asian dishes, with a huge salad bar and plenty of desserts. There were plenty of breads, eggs, bacon, cold cuts, fruit, cereal and yogurt. Parking was right next door for $24 a night – totally worth it! The only downside was that the hotel is older, but it’s kept in good shape.

I was close to Bratislava’s historic centre and the air conditioning was a lifesaver during the heat wave. The beds felt a bit too soft, and the shower was high up, so you had to be careful when stepping out with wet feet.
