Barrier Beach Resort, located on Espiritu Santo island, offers beachfront accommodation 20 minutes from Santo Pekoa International Airport. This resort features a restaurant, free snorkeling and kayak equipment, and bicycles. Private bathrooms with showers and bed linen are provided. A free airport shuttle and packed lunches are available, with local shops 15 minutes away.

The spot is right on the beach, framed by ancient trees, and managers Shawn and Janine really made me feel welcome, even going out of their way to tweak my booking because the beach side rooms were too noisy from the wind. I’ll definitely return. When the weather is nice, the beach fares are great, but if it’s windy or rainy, the shutters make the rooms dark, noisy, and drafty.

This was the most stunning place I’ve stayed in Vanuatu; the beach in front is amazing and the boardwalks leading to the rooms give a genuine jungle vibe. It’s quiet, clean, and the food is tasty even in small portions. Kayaks and stand‑up paddle boards are free to explore the lagoon, which I absolutely loved! The location is remote, so a car is essential—otherwise you’ll spend 20‑30 minutes getting back to town, but that distance also keeps the place peaceful and off‑the‑beaten‑path. You can buy food and drinks right there, and the roads are fine for self‑driving. A taxi is pricey, but I did dive from here with a car and had no issues. Bikes are free and can take you to places like Riri Blue Hole, though a car is recommended for the rest of the area. I’d love to return.

A resort experience right on the beach. Reasonable snorkeling at the reef area and kayaks etc available. Good breakfasts and tasty lunch and dinner options. Staff in general were polite and considerate. Accommodation comfy and shutters great for airflow. Good deck area and great being able to access the deck from the shower. Spa treatment was great. Quiet. 3/4f height wall between bedroom and bathroom not great. Be aware that the beaches are private so you can't walk far

Beautiful beach, comfy bed, great food that handled my allergy concerns well. Managers and staff couldn’t do enough for you. Property and facilities were very clean, the place just needs a bit of an update, thought it was a little overpriced.
