“My Place Hotel. Definitely not “My Place”. Not one I will go to in the near future.”
The hotel was clean and located nicely, but that was all. I asked three weeks ahead to be on the 4th floor and they never even tried to accommodate me; the staff just said we were sold out. I reminded them I’d made the request three weeks prior and they repeated the same excuse. I also paid for a room with a recliner because of a recent knee surgery, yet they put me in the wrong room. When I called the front desk, the receptionist claimed that was the room I paid for; I showed her my confirmation after she asked me to bring it down, but she still didn’t believe me. She eventually admitted she had a recliner room all along but didn’t want to do her job. The power outlets were wobbly and loose—two of them—and the toilet handle was broken, making flushing difficult. The bed felt like a slab of concrete. I will not return to this hotel or any My Place properties. I do want to note that after the front desk mishap, the young lady did try to help and was doing her job. The only thing I’d say is if she had the room I paid for, she should have just put me in it, especially since they never honored my first request for the top floor. I wasn’t asking for anything beyond what I paid for.
