Roderigo was always very friendly and helpful. The breakfast with local products from the Azores and eggs from his own chickens was fantastic, and the sea view was great. The old house has a moisture problem that shows up in some places. It’s also very noisy; the stairs creak loudly.
Wonderful, cozy place, perfect as a base on the island. The host was courteous, eager to help, and always made sure nothing was missing for his guests. The breakfasts were very tasty, with a beautiful ocean view that made a great start to each day. We felt well taken care of. The stay was very successful, and we will definitely return on our next trip to Sao Miguel.

We had a wonderful and very pleasant stay at Casa da Lomba do Cavaleiro. Rodrigo was a very attentive and warm host. We really enjoyed our daily breakfast while taking in the view from the terrace. We loved that Rodrigo serves regional products from his own garden and eggs from his own hens. Many thanks also for the very helpful tips and suggestions to explore São Miguel. Rodrigo runs a fantastic hotel, very warm, attentive, and he loves giving advice, which is very helpful. We loved that lunch was included. Access to the fridge and kitchen. I highly recommend this place. The accommodation is near the road, so it can be noisy for sleeping; earplugs are fine.
