The apartment is a two‑room unit on the second floor without an elevator, very nicely furnished and spacious. Breakfast is served in the main building and, for 10 € per person, is very good and varied.

Located in medieval Rothenburg, the 1264-built Romantik Hotel Markusturm features a traditional restaurant, free Wi-Fi, and a romantic courtyard terrace. Rooms come with flat-screen TVs, satellite channels, and antique furniture. A rich breakfast is served daily, and the restaurant offers regional and gourmet dishes, including wine soup and home-brewed beer. The hotel is a 2-minute walk from Rothenburg's picturesque marketplace.

The beds were comfortable and the apartment itself was generally clean, and the location was good with a well-equipped bathroom. However, the atmosphere did not match the description – the apartment was far more spartan and unfriendly than the hotel’s pictures suggested, and no full‑apartment photos were provided. The side building was actually two streets away, and a construction site with loud noise was right outside the window on a Saturday, directly overlooking the bedroom window and balcony. The balcony was unkempt, the walls were bare, the vibe was cold and unwelcoming, and it simply felt like an uninviting space. On top of that, it was far too expensive. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but showing only the hotel in the gallery and creating expectations that the apartment cannot meet is unacceptable.

The design inside and out is unique with an antique vibe, and the room is spacious and cozy. The location is convenient with easy access to many of the popular spots, and the staff are friendly and helpful, each handling multiple roles from front desk to restaurant service to valet parking. The breakfast could use a bit more variety, though I understand the hotel is aiming to keep it traditional and simple.
