I loved that the hotel was within walking distance to downtown.
The staff at this hotel were honestly really rude, with no manners to speak of.

“Ok”
The place offered decent value for a single night and looked clean enough, though it felt a bit worn and the breakfast barely met expectations, yet the price was fair.
“Nur für Menschen, denen Zigarettengestank im Zimmer nichts ausmacht. NIX für Familien mit Kindern”
The location was good, which I chose deliberately. Overall it was fine for a two‑star property but not for a four‑star one. The breakfast was decent. In the room and bathroom there was a strong cigarette smell, not just a bad odor but a real stench; my belongings absorbed the smell the next morning and even showering didn’t help. A non‑smoker sign with a nice door plaque was explicitly mentioned, but that seemed to start only from that day. There was no daylight in the room because a neighboring property’s high, dense wooden fence was built right in front of the window. The facilities and comfort resembled more a two‑star motel than a four‑star lodge.
This Econolodge is within walking distance of downtown Huntsville and near a walking trail. The biggest problem was the stale cigarette smell in room 107, especially in the bathroom; as a non‑smoker it was overwhelming. The room itself was clean, but the air—perhaps coming through the vents—was not.
“The breakfast can be better. It’s just bread and butter. No eggs or anything.”
The location was near the highway, but the rates were a drawback.
The location was good, but the beds, breakfast, and on the second day there was no coffee and no one to ask for more.
