Stoll's Hotel Alpina

An authentic family hotel with charm right in nature’s heart and near Königsee. We stayed in the large family suite with two balconies and were satisfied. Breakfast was great, staff friendly, and the evening cakes were very tasty. The kids loved the playroom in the basement and the two pools. A bus stop nearby lets you go to Königsee or Berchtesgaden, and the hotel provides free tickets—very convenient! Plenty of hiking options for the whole family. We’ll definitely come back. The only issue was constant smoking in the courtyard; the smoke seeped into the room through open windows, so we had to ventilate briefly.

Quietly located, great extensive breakfast, no parking, friendly staff. The only complaint is that it feels a bit “off the beaten path”; a bit of modernization would help.

The hotel and view are beautiful; the staff is very friendly and helpful. However, my room was incredibly noisy. It was on the ground floor, and at night someone would slam a door. In the bathroom it was extremely loud whenever someone above was showering. In the morning the cleaning lady vacuumed the hallway; the carpet made the work noisy. Also, the laundry room was only two doors away. I left disappointed because I rarely experience such a loud hotel; it’s unfortunate that you can’t find peace after midnight, and you’re practically forced to get up before 7 am unless you want to be woken by something else.
