“We loved our stay at Mui Ne Red Sands Villa. The staff were hospitable and took great care of us.”

The owner and staff went above and beyond, cooking homemade meals for us when we were under the weather, arranging a driver for trips to HCM and the busier part of Mui Ne at a cheaper rate than local Grab drivers, and even gifting us something based on our zodiac sign. I devoured banana pancakes every morning from the breakfast menu, and the quiet setting made it a peaceful escape after a hectic Vietnam tour. A small amount of mould behind the bedhead didn’t affect the air quality, but a fragrance sprayed in the room was overpowering and triggered my allergies; we could switch it off, yet the scent lingered. The beach a short walk away wasn’t suitable for swimming, and the nicer one a bit further around the corner was inaccessible to us.

The owner was very helpful and friendly, surprised us with a small personal gift, and was reachable via WhatsApp at all times. Starting with the grounds, it is noticeably smaller than the pictures suggest; overall everything feels worn and poorly maintained, which is disappointing given its attractive architectural design. The pool is tiny but was cleaned and appeared tidy. The balcony room looked decent, though the balcony is shared with the adjacent room and only fits two people. The bed creaked with every movement, and the pillows made you want to book a massage soon after. Around 23 h a monotonous hum began, disturbing my sleep. It would be great if you booked three nights. The curtains in the bathroom were moldy, the bathtub was dirty, and the shower was old and limescale‑covered. An unpleasant odor from the toilet spread throughout the room. Overall, this hotel could serve as a decent hostel for backpackers if the relatively high price weren’t an issue; 141 € for three nights is steep in this area. Finally, regarding the location: we’re in a no‑man’s land with nothing but the red sand dunes that the city and the hotel promote. There’s no beach section. In this condition we cannot recommend this hotel.

The facilities are superb, the staff were adorable, and I would recommend them with my eyes closed. Nothing is wrong; it’s perfect!
