The hotel had closed a bit before I arrived, so some of the staff from my previous stays were on standby while renovations finished. Because of that, breakfast wasn’t served, but there were a fridge and kettle in the room so I managed. The hotel director expects the breakfast – which had been great before – to return once the renovation is complete. I emailed asking about breakfast but never received a reply. Still, I received friendly treatment from both the director and a housekeeper who remembered me from last year. I had to change rooms because of a flood from a storm, and the new room lacked any English‑language TV channels, which I had specifically requested. It only had three channels, two of which were sports channels that don’t interest me. The first room had an English news channel, an improvement I’d mentioned years ago.
