My mother and son were very nice. There were chestnuts in the parking lot, and we picked them up.
“Authentic, great traditional experience, morning Fuji looking at you, futons~”
I saw Fuji in the morning, had kind hosts, a good location, and slept well on futons (the rest of my group didn’t, so it was individual). So, first things first, when we arrived we were met with quite a chaos :D We didn’t expect the facility to have lots of sheets and blankets at the front. While I booked a room with beds instead of futons, we were still given the futon ones. I’m not sure that they have beds at all. The men’s public bath was closed during our stay, so to use the public bath we have to go in rotations(?) – when girls go, they put “women” wooden table, when men go, they put “men” which wasn’t very convenient. The bath itself is quite dirty… we had hair in the water. The slippers are also worn out already… The doors and floors are squeaky so everyone hears everything. Shared restroom could also be better. Of course, Fuji and the experience itself outweighed the drawbacks.
“Un vieux gîte japonais pour passage bref avec belle vue sur le mont fuji”
The view and the authenticity of an old Japanese house are impressive. The cleanliness was lacking.
It’s close to restaurants and a convenience store. There is no private bathroom, which can be inconvenient, especially for foreign guests who may not be used to being completely naked in a public bath. Having at least one private bathroom option would make the accommodation more comfortable and welcoming for international guests.
The spot is great, easy to catch a ride and grab a bite. Open the window and you can see Mt. Fuji. The soundproofing is awful, and the mattress is old and moldy.
