The hotel is only a two‑minute walk from the old town, and the breakfast buffet offered a good variety, though the street beside the hotel is very busy; the windows do a decent job of blocking out the noise.

“Good value for money”

The hotel was modest, in the city centre, with rooms of a good size, a decent breakfast, and staff who were friendly and welcoming. We stayed in two rooms—one double and a family room for four—and the family room had a constant unpleasant bathroom smell; the thin pillows were uncomfortable for me.

The central location was convenient and street parking was available for a small fee during the day, yet the room was not spotless, the bedside table was sticky, and the towels had stains; we asked for two extra pillows because only two were provided and never received them, so I feel four stars are a bit generous.

The location and décor were great, but the bedding suffered because the mattress was slightly sunken in the middle, and the corridor was not well sound‑proofed so conversations could be heard; the key was inconvenient to carry even though it added a bit of charm in my view.
