The location was decent, but the breakfast was poor, the bathroom horrible, and the room felt suffocating. The price was too high. Though it’s listed as a 4‑star hotel, it really feels like a pension.

Palazzo Duca sits steps from Chania’s Venetian harbour in the historic old town, offering elegant studios and apartments with air‑conditioning, free Wi‑Fi, kitchenette, fridge, LCD satellite TV and safe. Cocomat mattresses, optional spa baths, and balconies provide city views. Pedestrian streets surround the property; Nea Chora beach lies 800 m away, with Chrissi Akti and Agii Apostoli within 3 km. Airport access is 12 km.

The place is very well located in the heart of the old town. The room was all‑comfort with a spa on the terrace, perfect for relaxing after touring the city. The breakfast was hearty. I recommend it.

The spot in the old town is great, not quite on the waterfront so it’s quieter. The room was gorgeous.

The location is good and they offer flexible luggage storage the next day. However, the furnishings are very dated and lack character. The breakfast for a room over 150 € was not adequate. Half an hour before closing, only leftovers were available and the staff were not courteous (an egg‑white scramble?); that’s not what you expect from a house that charges such prices. The breakfast staff were especially inattentive: the coffee in the only thermos filter was lukewarm, more cold than hot, and bitter. They told us there was still something in it, and when we mentioned it was lukewarm and bitter, they simply re‑heated it right before our eyes. When we saw this and complained loudly, they claimed they had poured fresh coffee into the filter and brewed it fresh, removing the almost cold coffee from the thermos. We were only 3 m away and didn’t notice any of that. If you can hold your finger in the coffee (which I unfortunately had to do before the service staff), it can’t be right—then you’re mixing old with new, which is unpleasant with bitter coffee. We gave up on it, maybe it was an extreme single case or a misunderstanding. In any case, the attitude behind it was not what we expected—especially for 60 €. The house was nice overall (staff and attitude were okay), but it didn’t feel as charming as the welcoming lobby might suggest, despite a stone‑wall view in the room.

The hotel itself is nice, but getting there in the middle of the old town was a challenge. The path to the hotel and the coffee at breakfast were disappointing.
