The accommodation is perfect in every way. The curry we had was the best in Sri Lanka. You can do a lot, and everything can be organized on request. He showed us crocodiles in his tuk‑tuk that evening, and otherwise we felt very comfortable. We had a lot of fun, even with the surf lesson, which is great for beginners. The card game he taught us was really enjoyable! Everything was great.

Arriving at De Perla felt like coming home; Faruk, the manager, is very accommodating and sweet, and he cooks fantastic meals with fresh ingredients that you can request anything you want. As a solo traveller I felt very safe and cared for, and they can arrange everything for you, from taxis into town to surfing and other sightseeing opportunities. You’re a two‑minute walk from the beach and the town is quiet and peaceful—truly a hidden gem. No negatives.

We were a family of 5 and rented 2 air conditioned chalets. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had everything we needed and it’s a very quiet location. Breakfast and dinner were excellent and the friendly family running the accommodation helped us arrange transport and surfboards. It’s only a few minutes walk to the beach. Surfing is at Potuvil Point so we got a lift to the end if the road and it’s a short walk to the break. Nothing, we had a great time and would happily go back. It was a pleasant escape form the hustle and bustle of A-Bay

The owner, the dad, and the son are amazing and very accommodating; the food cooked by the dad is really good and they’re always smiling. Go there—it’s pretty simple, but that’s all you need to enjoy the area.
