“Muy bien”
The facilities, the pool views and the very helpful staff were great, though I thought the price was a little high for a 5‑star hotel in San Agustinillo.

The rooms have a nice style and the hotel manager was extremely friendly, trying to make us as comfortable as possible. We had booked seven nights but cut the stay to one; the property looks worn and clearly under‑invested. The fans don’t work and are rusted, the pool is clean but the paint is peeling, making it unappealing, the room smelled damp and faced a public beach path so you could hear people constantly as if they were inside. The stairs to the beach were broken, forcing us to go around the outside through a foul‑smelling hallway. Several small issues added up, leading us to cancel after paying only the first night. The manager and staff were very kind and did what they could with what they had, but it simply isn’t worth the cost.

This place has a lot of great things. The setting is stunning, with amazing ocean views—my room was on the top floor and oceanfront—plus a very comfortable bed and an excellent restaurant. Every meal was tasty, and the staff were consistently warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The rooms are deliberately rustic and open to nature, with screened openings instead of fully enclosed windows. That gives a unique feel but can make the rooms warm and humid, even with the wall‑mounted AC, especially if you’re used to more traditional hotels. I visited in July, one of the hottest months, so that added to the heat. There’s no fridge in the room, and after the restaurant closes at 5:00 p.m., on‑site food options are limited. If you like snacks or cold drinks in the evening, plan ahead. Luckily, a couple of good restaurants are about a five‑minute walk away, and you can easily catch a taxi up the hill to Mazunte for more dining. If you want a rustic, nature‑focused stay with spectacular views, great food, and genuinely kind people, this hotel could be a good fit. The hospitality was heartfelt. As I was leaving, several staff members walked me out to say goodbye, which was a thoughtful touch and a wonderful way to end the visit.

The peace, the beach, and the atmosphere are lovely. The white light on the terraces is a drawback.

The hotel was tiny and cozy, giving off a tropical vibe, and the ladies on staff were wonderful. We didn’t eat much of their food, but what we did try was great, and we really had a good time and want to return. They initially put us in the worst sea‑facing room even though two better ones were available; after we asked for a change, we were moved to a beautiful room. The lowest‑level front beach room shouldn’t be priced the same or called a sea view like the others—half the size, no views because of greenery, and right next to a storage room.
