The staff were great and friendly, and we also enjoyed the view and the comfort. The breakfast could be improved; the tapioca was bad.

Spotlessly clean, friendly staff, scrumptious breakfast, and breathtaking sunrise and sunset views. Everything is perfect.

The food was excellent, the location in a stunning area with a private, deserted beach, refined decor, and activities that pleased both adults and kids. The bedding could be softer for a hotel of this standard, and extra beds could be more comfortable. It would help to have someone on staff who speaks good English, as we stayed during a period when many foreigners were present and communication with hotel staff was noticeably difficult. Overall, a great stay.

What I loved most was undoubtedly the view. The hotel’s prime location offers a breathtaking sea view that truly enhances the experience and makes the place extra special. I didn’t feel the accommodation offered good value for money. The worst part was the reception: at several moments we felt watched and judged. Some staff behaved unkindly, creating a constant sense of surveillance, far from the hospitality expected at this price range. I was also disappointed with the Super Premium Suite. My mother stayed in a Luxury Suite, and the only real difference was a narrow side corridor on the balcony that barely fits two people standing. When asked about the category differences, the reception explained, with little willingness, that it was the sunrise and sunset view, yet my mother’s suite had virtually the same view. There was no justification for paying more for the Super Premium. The charging policy also bothered me: even the coffee at reception is paid and expensive. The cork fee is R$ 85.00, even for guests. I understand the hotel has its own wine selection, but that doesn’t justify such a high fee. The facilities are old and room cleaning is nothing special for the price. The bureaucracy is impressive: so many terms to sign that arrival feels more like an apartment financing than a stay. I had stayed at Pontal de Ubu in 2001 on a college trip and had a great memory. That’s why I wanted to return many years later with my husband and mother. Unfortunately, the disappointment was huge.
