We were very happy with our stay; the staff were friendly and accommodating, the food was enjoyable with good menu choices, but adding a coffee machine, more pillow options, and local snacks or biscuits would make the rooms feel a bit more luxurious.

The location and bedroom views were lovely, but the bathroom design was poor: no shelves or hooks for toiletries or towels by the sink, the heated towel rail was broken and there was no other radiator, and the mirror was too high—my 6‑ft‑tall husband could barely see it and I, at 5‑ft‑1, could not. The bar/reception area was very unappealing, often covered in dirty plates and cups.

The location was great, and staying in the Lir Suite was lovely; the hotel is being updated and has a nice vibe, so we felt relaxed and comfortable. Breakfast was very good—delicious, hot, and with many options. The view from our room was amazing, so we spent more time there than planned, watching the world go by and seeing incredible sunsets, and it was easy to get around from there as a base. The only downsides were that the corridors feel tired, the lift wobbles a bit, and it feels a little DIY rather than professionally finished.

the location was very good and we did have a sea view room. The room was clean and the bathroom spacious. The room was very basic, and bit like a student dorm. The heat did not come on until 7pm and we had to ask for it to be turned on. We found an electric heater outside the door so put it on in our room in the afternoon. We didn't use the restaurant. The stairways and corridors swere very well used looked like they could do with a face lift
