The view from the room was stunning and peaceful. The food was good. The room needs a bit of updating.

The surroundings were great and the view from our room was lovely, plus the coffee was good. But Bay Horse is rural, so the cobwebs, the little moths that escaped from the bed when we flipped the duvet, and the constant scratching of mice (or something) in the wall cavities kept us awake most of the night. We stayed in the Curlew room. After eating out around 7 pm, we chilled for a while and then headed to the bar around 9 ish for a few drinks, only to find it dark and closed—Saturday night! That made us think the pub was open for the evening as listed. Still, there are good walks nearby.

I loved the location—pretty and peaceful—and the staff were friendly. The only downside was having to pay for breakfast, which I thought was included.

Breakfast was lovely, even though it’s an extra charge on top of the room rate. The room was very comfortable, the views were superb for seascape lovers, and it’s dog friendly—great!
