A stunning castle, almost untouched and quiet because few visitors came. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Walking the castle park trail at night was gorgeous. The dining options a few kilometres around the hotel really impressed us, and the price was spot on thanks to many discounts. Once it was impeccably maintained, now the bridge railings look desolate, the parasols are torn, and weeds grow on the terrace. Compared to other hotels it’s still good, just not as pristine as before. The TV could be newer, and the bathroom lighting feels outdated. There are no hiking or cycling paths starting right at the hotel, nor other fitness options, and I couldn’t find a playground.
The air conditioning barely worked at all. Instead of cold water, only warm water flowed. Staying on the castle was therefore not ideal; we slept in what used to be a stable.
The air conditioning in our room didn’t work, which is why we chose this hotel for the weekend because it was 40 °C. The mobile AC unit brought even more heat and noise into the room. When we checked out, the front desk replied only with a “Too bad.”
