“A good option for a short stay, but there were some issues”
The staff were helpful, even if they didn’t always speak English. When the first room had issues, reception swapped it quickly—though the move took a while, they handled it without fuss. The second room worked fine: the safe functioned, there was a shower cabin, and although the shower wasn’t perfect, it was usable. Still, the hotel is far from the metro, the Wi‑Fi required a Chinese phone number so I had to use my eSIM, and breakfast menus were only in Chinese with no English, making it hard to pick European dishes. The initial room also had a broken safe, a partly broken shower, and no cabin—just a bathtub—despite the description saying otherwise. Overall, despite these hiccups, I enjoyed my Shanghai trip.
