Hua Xiang Hotel-Qishan

The bed was large, but the washbasin lacked soap or lotion, which would have been helpful if guests didn’t bring toiletries; breakfast was bland, the off‑center price was steep, and the business room’s policy that cars must park outside the hotel was not disclosed during online booking, making it unfriendly for disabled guests.

The hotel sits inside the sugar farm and boasts a huge parking lot so parking isn’t a worry; the old‑town street of Qishan is nearby and there’s a massage chair for tired travelers. Inside the room, I couldn’t find the Wi‑Fi password without asking the front desk, the cleaning left something to be desired, and I even spotted leaves in the room.

The room and facilities were spotless, the buffet breakfast offered a good variety, and the location is great if you drive; walking to the old street is a decent hike. The coffee from the machine was awful, but if you’re after premium coffee you don’t need to go far—Jack’s Coffee at 595 Yanping 1st Rd is excellent, just one block from Old Street.

The bathroom had a clear separation between wet and dry areas and was spacious, which was comfortable to use. When I checked in on 7/23 to room 220, which is probably above the kitchen, the range hood’s whirring was quite loud.
