“Book only if you are desperate!”
Nothing. Where do I start?! I had booked and confirmed our stay based on booking com photos etc and facilities listed one being soundproofing. When you stay in the Old Quarter, and will be facing the street, it becomes rather important. . Anyway, despite confirming, we were put into an awful little room on the side, staff were apologetic about having given our room to someone else, even though I'd booked it for nearly a week well in advance too. Not cool. We were prepared to let that pass and stay the night til our original room became available the next day. And then just as we were about to go to sleep the neighbour over the road, decides now is the perfect time to do some balcony renovation involving a grinder and the use of what sounded like Thors hammer nonstop . That was it . I argued with the guy downstairs when he finally came back from being somewhere down the road, about there being ZERO soundproofing and thus the ad in booking com is a lie and he said the room you are in tomorrow is better and I said I didn't believe him as the room we were put in says it had soundproofing too, so yeah nah do not believe you. So I paid him far too much in my opinion just to get the hell out of there, and thankfully we found another perfect place 4 minutes walk away. Still spewing about being charged for a room we were never meant to have but at least I stuck to my guns and left. Cannot imagine anyone rating this place highly unless they literally go to sleep too drunk to care. This is our 3rd time to the Old Quarter so we aren't newbies we know about the noise factor we love the place but when a place advertises it's soundproofed it should be. The earplugs I had did not block the noise either, so don't be thinking I should have used them . I did. Booking com really should check these places out
