I always pick this place when I head to Bali because the spot is spot-on and the staff never miss a beat, though the music from the next door room can be a bit of a distraction.

The location is spot-on in central Kuta and close to the beach, making getting around a breeze. The staff are friendly and the rooms are spotless.

The spot was decent, but the loud pool club nearby kept blasting music deep into the night. The staff were lovely and helpful. The decking around the pool access room was dangerously old, weathered, and would shift with nails sticking out. Cigarette butts were everywhere. The day beds’ covers were filthy, stained, and torn, and the rattan tables were old and falling apart. The mattresses were extremely uncomfortable. The sewerage smell in the first room I was given was unbearable, so I asked for two rooms next to each other; that didn’t happen until I complained and requested a refund, after which they moved us. The mattresses were cheap and very uncomfortable, and the linen and pillows were old and needed replacing. The shower flooded into the bathroom and took ages to drain, creating a slippery, smelly mess. Bathroom lighting was very dull, and there was body and hand soap but no shampoo, etc. The floors were filthy, and the wardrobe only had four hangers. It was also very noisy, with doors slamming at all hours during the day and night.

The general staff were helpful and friendly, but the rooms lacked real chairs—just a bench with no back.
