If you have to mention anything good: you don’t need to worry about toilet paper quality because it simply isn’t there. For fans of abstract art, the bedding is uniquely decorated with various undefinable dirty stains. Nothing else. The few euros you save don’t even come close to offsetting this total nightmare. If you don’t mind sleeping with bedbugs and pests that have been roaming for months, or an air‑con that’s been broken for months, then you’re in the right spot. It’s perfect for lovers of cramped, claustrophobic rooms where you walk around with wet feet because the shower water floods the room. If a medical emergency or other crisis happens, you’ll also have to ignore that the hotel phone (supposedly in the room per the facilities) is completely missing. During breakfast you’re cheerfully greeted in the courtyard by roaming rats, and you’re guaranteed to wake up to intrusive, foreign cravings. Ideal if you don’t have a lift phobia in claustrophobic tiny spaces and don’t care about safety regarding intruders in the annex in an unsafe neighbourhood with an unmanned reception. You’ll have to stare blind at the dubious positive reviews and ignore the harsh reality of the bad ones. The staff act superficially friendly and pretend every complaint is new, even though these problems have been structural for months. Expect absolutely no help from above if things still go wrong: formal complaints are simply ignored at Best Western’s headquarters. The customer service there is as indifferent as the local management. For my wife, the extreme summer heat and lack of a fridge for her insulin was simply life‑threatening. But hey, if none of that matters, you accept the zero service of the chain, and you mainly want to be close to Gare du Nord for cheap, then book this hotel!

The staff were very friendly, but I didn’t like the location at all, though it was very close to Gare du Nord.

“OK for one night. Nice staff.”

The reception staff were all very polite, but the lift was absolutely bizarre—the smallest lift I think I’ve ever been in—and the neighbourhood wasn’t that great at night.

Very clean and well‑run, with excellent breakfast and a central location; the area was very lively and cosmopolitan, but we knew that before booking.
