This place was an exceptional hotel—after a string of letdowns during our Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine trip, the Federal turned out to be a pleasant surprise, with beautifully furnished rooms, great staff, and a five‑star feel; I highly recommend it if you’re in the Brunswick ME area.

The location was superb, the surroundings were very quiet and the grounds lovely, and there’s a small convenience store just down the street; the bathroom lacked a few towel hooks, the pillows were slightly less fluffy, but the bed was overall comfortable, making it a great spot to rest after a long drive.

The lobby was very nice, the staff were great, and the place stayed clean, but the amenities were poor: the coffee tasted low‑quality in the morning, the room lacked a microwave or kettle, and it was small; all of this was tolerable only because the price was so high—I’ve stayed in cheaper motels with better amenities.

The location was great, parking was plentiful, the rooms were clean and quiet, and the bathroom was spacious and beautiful; however, the queen room I booked turned out to be more like a full‑size bed, and there was very little storage for a six‑night stay.
