The room was fine but it got pretty hot, yet breakfast was top‑class—each of us had a different meal and we were all thrilled with the food. Nothing else was off.

Having stayed at Keyberry more than once, I knew what to expect: a local pub with a handful of rooms, not as slick as newer spots but perfectly adequate and great value. Breakfasts are tasty and a bargain.

The rooms were tidy, but the constant droning of what sounded like a tumble dryer all night in room 1 kept me from sleeping; I had to get up early. My friend and I swapped rooms because she felt uneasy in room 5, sensing something there—later I realized it was the same issue. We ended up sharing the same room and even thought about sleeping in the car.
