The room was perfect with a superb view, the staff were welcoming, the continental breakfast was good, the bed was very comfortable, and cleanliness was fine. I’m still surprised to meet hotel staff who only speak their native language and not French, even though we’re close to the border, and not English, even though that language is now universal; but with goodwill on both sides we manage!
