Le Jardin D'Elma proved to be a wonderful base. It sits in Vence, a picturesque village just a 40‑minute drive from Nice. We spent a 10‑day holiday, starting in Nice and then splitting the trip by taking five days out of the city, which let us explore more of this magnificent region. We had a plan for our days in Vence, but our fantastic hosts suggested activities that made the trip even better. The accommodation was superb, and breakfast in the garden was a dream. The room was spacious, clean, and beautiful. Located in the old part of Vence, it was a short walk to everything we wanted to see and a selection of restaurants within walking distance. Staying in Vence felt like a dream.

Location close to restaurants, bakeries, shops, cafés and 10 mins. walk from cheap parking near swimming pool at optionally €2/day! Use of whirlpool after a hot day exploring - when I thought it would be more for bad weather! Room was a good size and attractively furnished. Nice French breakfast usually with extra offers of eggs and/or French cheeses, home made cake… held in garden. Our ground floor room was a bit dark as no sunlight, but still very warm despite propeller fan (climate change, I guess). We couldn’t leave a window open to cool the room at night as there was only a door to the terrace. The only proper seating with a table was outside. Due to the sudden appearance of mosquitoes (again not owners’ fault of course) we couldn’t/preferred not to sit outside to read or play games when dark (mid-September)
