The place was very comfortable for the price, checking in was a breeze, and the location was convenient. The only downside was that the shower was pretty bad, but it wasn’t a big deal.

It’s a calm spot, the air‑conditioning worked well and there was no noise, there were good mirrors and a large, comfortable bed, a nice lamp on the table with two stools, a cozy corner in the hallway with a kettle for coffee or tea, and we could do laundry in the hotel. The wardrobe was OK but very basic and there was no fridge, yet overall we liked the place.

The manager was pleasant to deal with. The AC noise was annoying and the bathroom wasn’t the best.

For those wanting to stay on Kaoshan Road, the location is great. The bed in the room is large enough and the hot water in the bathroom is good. During off‑peak times the Wi‑Fi speed is excellent, provided your room is close to the signal. Free luggage storage is available. Also, the shack‑style restaurant by the river below serves tasty, cheap food that I highly recommend! However, cockroach-sized roaches frequently emerge from the rotten bathroom door seam to greet you and leave large droppings nearby to prove they’re the room’s owner. The loud AC noise can make you think you’re on a train sleeper. The yellow spots on the dirty pillow core speak of the passage of time. A nearby chicken sings every hour until it’s fully energetic for 24 hours. The room windows that can’t be locked from the inside constantly remind you that it’s time to breathe fresh air. There’s no fridge, so you can only quickly destroy food bought at 7‑11 with ice water to keep it fresh. We stayed six consecutive days; the next day we asked the front desk staff for room supplies and she only gave us two small bottles of drinking water, then said there was none left. Six days, one roll of toilet paper, a total of four small bottles of water, no garbage bags, and the owner was almost perfect at saving virtue. The value for money is very low. A friend nearby spent 27 % more to stay at a three‑star hotel with breakfast, so compared to that, this place isn’t cheap.

Great location, affordable price. The faucet was very annoying and the bathroom was very small.
