“If you’re looking for a sign to stay here, this is it!”
I can’t even start. This was our favorite stay during our month in Sri Lanka. Finding it was a bit of a challenge, but Ashini spotted our taxi and brought us in. They were in the middle of construction, yet they put everything on hold for us, which I never expected; she said she didn’t want us bothered by the noise. You get a whole little cabin to yourself, with a small patio. Inside it’s beautiful, with two comfy armchairs, a kettle for tea and coffee, a mini fridge, and the bed was lovely. The hot water was nice, Wi‑Fi was decent (it flickered but that’s typical in Sri Lanka). You’re a short walk from restaurants, etc., but on our first night after a long travel day, Ashini and her mother made us a lovely dinner and brought it to us on the patio, setting it up beautifully. It was wonderful to have that option, especially if you’re only staying one night—you don’t have to worry about going out. Another great thing: Ashini arranged a safari for us. We weren’t sure we wanted it, but she got us a really good price, cheaper than any other we found, and it was just the two of us in the jeep! The driver, her friend, was also lovely. If you stay here (you should), I’d definitely recommend going with him. This place was our favorite accommodation by far, not only for everything mentioned above but because of how welcoming and helpful Ashini was. Thank you for being a highlight of our trip. I’m sure we’ll return.
