“À fuir !”
We emailed the hotel before arriving to arrange a shuttle, but the driver never left the airport and we had to call them, waiting another 15 minutes; at check‑in they told us to wait five minutes, yet we ended up standing for twenty while no one showed up even though we were on time. They then claimed “we’ve placed you in a suite, not the same one but a suite nonetheless,” only for us to discover it was a junior suite €200 cheaper than the executive suite we booked, and the requested extra bed and baby cot were missing. After we complained they asked us to hold on for another 15 minutes, finally moving us to the presidential suite on the top floor at 16:30, still unclean, with water puddles beneath the windows, and we waited another 25 minutes. The room featured hard beds, cockroaches in the toilet, a shower door that wouldn’t close, a leaking bathtub that dripped onto an electrical socket, occasional lack of hot water, torn bathrobes, windows that let in a lot of noise from a rooftop technical room, no air‑conditioning or heating (so we were cold all stay), unchanged sheets for four nights, only the beds made, three bottles of water for four people, damaged furniture and doors, a dirty carpet and blood‑like splatters on the wall. Breakfast was disgusting – dry pastries, a dry‑looking dish I didn’t even eat, and cockroaches in the waste bins.
