We booked a cottage for two couples and it was flawless and romantic, full of charm, quiet, and the ideal launchpad for busy sightseeing days. Breakfast was intimate and excellent. The only downside is that the property is car‑accessible and in the countryside, which may be a concern for non‑drivers. The host has had bad experiences with making restaurant reservations for guests who don’t show up, so they’re quite strict. I’d politely suggest that most restaurants now text to confirm and accept credit‑card reservations for no‑shows, and that the host double‑checks with guests that they actually intend to go to the reserved restaurant; it’s a standard request, but I understand his hesitancy.
