The breakfast was decent, and we appreciated that a small breakfast was offered for a fee—something not common elsewhere. The hotel’s location is perfect, right in the town center yet surprisingly quiet, and we also liked dining at the on‑site restaurant.

The hotel is run wonderfully, with staff who go out of their way to help and are genuinely kind. I was woken up at 8 am by church bells, not by anything the hotel did.

The bed was delightful, the pillows comfortable, the people nice, and the breakfast neat—nothing to note.

The breakfast spread was plentiful and tasty, but the location was poor—right on the main road. It was noisy because we had to keep the window open all night in the tiny room that lacked air conditioning. The room itself was very basic and small. When the hotel restaurant was closed for the day, we had to search for a place to eat until we found the only open restaurant in all of Altenahr. Every other hotel or restaurant was also closed or on holiday.

The rooms, dining area, and staff were all great, but the place should have been refreshed a bit faster after the 2021 disaster.
