1 double bed
Nothing positive. The hotel has a bad smell; the bartender is the receptionist, sheets were dirty and I had to ask for them to be changed. The bartender said he was new there and the owner was not around; he said he could only hand over the keys to me. I went to the room again and there was no soap or shower gel; cups and spoons were also very dirty. I asked for that, and he said I could go to the nearby store and get shower gel and soap for myself? I said, “Are you serious?” How come? I paid you in advance and these are basic things to find in any hotel. I told him if you are not ready to receive customers, give me my money back. He called the owner and he said, “Okay, go and buy him some shower gel and soaps.” The TV set in the room is just a black screen and can be used as a radio only without being able to see any TV channel. Bad wireless service. The hotel has three rooms located on the first floor above the bar which bring lots of noise. This is a ridiculous experience and should verify whom you are promoting because you are misleading customers. I am asking for compensation for this bad experience for the three nightmare nights. You and the hotel management put us in a very bad situation and I tried even to find another nearby hotel but unfortunately I couldn’t.
The restaurant right next door was fantastic, but the bed was hard, there were only two pillows, no tea bags, and just one large towel shared by two people for two nights.
The atmosphere was friendly and the staff brilliant, with no complaints at all; we keep stopping here whenever we visit Durham.
“Terrible . Pay the extra and get a decent hotel in the Centre of Durham”
The bathroom was spacious, but everything else was terrible—avoid at all costs. The room was supposed to have tea and coffee making facilities, yet none were available. When I asked the staff, they said they were waiting for an Amazon delivery. I pressed them three times, and they promised to go to the shop, but nothing ever arrived. !!!
“Nice helpful staff, room and facilities very basic but you get what you pay for.”
The staff were friendly, but everything felt very basic.
