The host and his wife were wonderful and accommodating, and we enjoyed chatting via Google Translate. The spot was perfect, right between town and the slopes. The lodging felt truly traditional and authentic. Nothing else to add!

The couple who runs it were very nice, welcoming, and helped us book a taxi when needed. The room was simple but good, and the onsen was nice for a quick unwind after skiing. The location was great, close to the cable car and rental shops, and not far from the restaurants.

The lovely couple running the place were very kind and hospitable. The location is amazing, just minutes from a gondola and a short walk to the main village. Our twin room had two beds, plenty of storage, a small table, and a seating area, and the heater worked great. It felt like staying with grandparents, and I’d definitely come back. The beds could have been a bit comfier.

Breakfast was incredible, and the location was great. The staff were lovely and accommodating, and the facilities matched what we expected, delivered with impeccable hospitality and kindness. Having never slept on traditional futons with tatami mats before, I had a little trouble adjusting to the sleeping arrangements, especially as a side sleeper. An extra futon or a duvet blanket for a bit of extra cushion for hips and shoulders would help.

The staff are delightful, helped us with lift tickets, and gave us a small gift when we left. The private onsen in the basement was a nice bonus, and the whole place was spotlessly clean. It was a short walk to the snow. For us westerners, the lack of storage space was a challenge, but we adapted. The room was very traditional.
