Getting there was a breeze, and the hotel was close to the event venue that required my stay. Nothing else to note.
The hotel was perfect for my conference because the convention centre was just a stone’s throw away, and the spot also let me wander around Recife and Olinda without a long commute.
“Terrível”
I found the sheets stained and torn, the mattress was just a naked foam slab, and the staff were downright rude. The pool was murky, the cheese at breakfast was crawling with ants, and the owner seemed only interested in squeezing money out of guests.

The staff communicated well, but even though I booked through Booking, the hotel insisted on a phone call to confirm the reservation. I never received the email with that instruction, and when I arrived I was told there was no room for me. If the booking is made via Booking, the hotel should be the one to contact the guest, not the other way around.
There were way too many rules to deal with, and breakfast wasn’t even set up – I had to ask for each item just to get something to eat. It felt more like a chore than a welcome.
