During this time of year it would have been nice to see the fire lit in the bar area; it felt slightly cold and lacked ambience. Adding tea lights on the bar tables would have improved the atmosphere.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Glenfinnan House, where our room was spacious and comfortable with a spotless modern bathroom. The bar and breakfast food were outstanding, and we loved relaxing in the drawing room and main lobby with conversation and drinks. The hotel’s location is ideal for visiting the viaduct, Loch Shiel, and the surrounding area. Staff were all incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive to our needs. Highly recommend!

The breakfast menu was fantastic, offering whatever you wanted to order. The rooms were nice, but in ours, neither the bathroom sockets nor the electric towel rack worked, yet everything else was very good. The atmosphere felt like a movie, and we saw deer at dusk—an authentic fantasy with the lake and gardens. The place is beautiful, and it’s highly likely I’ll return, either with my friend as we did this time, with our children, or on a romantic trip with a spouse; it’s a fantastic bet if you’re in the area. The bar felt a bit pricey; we were charged 22 pounds for two glasses of wine, though the glasses were generous and the wine was good. The staff were very friendly.

The setting was incredibly picturesque, even deer appeared by the house at night, and the staff were exceptionally courteous; the property radiated old‑Scottish charm, the food was delicious, and it’s only a 15‑minute walk to the Hogwarts Express. Unfortunately, the suite had the firmest mattress I’ve ever slept on, requiring a blanket under the sheet because there was no topper, and the second bedroom’s sloping mattress made me slide back each night, ruining sleep.

The location, the surroundings, the staff, and the gluten‑free arrangements are all excellent.
