We really enjoyed our stay at Shadowcrest! It’s a charming Victorian house in a very quiet and beautiful spot in the middle of the Catskills, a short ride from other lovely villages and great hikes. The rooms are comfortable and the communal areas are great, too. Plus, Brendan and his dog are fantastic hosts. The only nitpick is that the breakfast options could be a bit more varied.

The location is good and the place is clean. There was no staff present. I stepped on a tiny piece of glass in the rug in the room. The room was very small and the towels were scratchy.

We had a great morning breakfast with daily options of fruit, cereal, yogurts, toppings, bagels, toast, fresh juice, and coffee, and we especially liked sitting outside on the veranda for a peaceful breakfast.
