The hotel is just a 2.3‑minute walk from the north entrance of Ritsurin Park, making it perfect for a morning stroll, and from the room’s window I could clearly see Mt. Shiun, the park’s backdrop. The fireworks from the Takamatsu Festival were visible from the fifth‑floor window. The building is old, so noises traveled through the corridors and other areas.

I managed to have breakfast without any trouble, which was fine. Because I arrived at 15:00 instead of the scheduled 16:00, the staff were friendly enough to let me check in early, but they gave me no detailed explanation; once inside I discovered there were no indoor slippers, only a kettle, and there were no tea cups, glasses or tea at all, which was inconvenient. The room also lacked a telephone that connects to the front desk, so I had to go down to the elevator and use the installed phone to reach reception. When I mentioned the missing slippers, they told me they cost 100 yen each and I ended up paying for two pairs. A proper briefing at check‑in would have been appreciated.

Nothing stood out as positive for me. When I left my luggage in the storage beforehand, the staff placed it on a floor that was being walked on with shoes, which felt unsanitary. The website promised amenities, yet only the bare minimum was provided; there were no body towels and slippers cost extra. Both the washbasin and bathtub showed visible grime.
