Nearby attractions include Museum Ons’ Lieve Heer op Solder, Beurs van Berlage, Madame Tussaud’s, and Waterlooplein, with boating options nearby.

The old Dutch basement apartment from the 1700s‑1800s was authentic, with a great location in the highly desirable Centrum center. The TV kept turning on and off during the day and night, the electrical outlets were sketchy and dangerous, the bed covers seemed unwashed, there was no washing machine, and I think I spotted mildew in the shower stall. A few yards away was a sad nursing home. Amsterdam’s hotel taxes are the highest in Europe, and paying close to $300 a night for a basement apartment from the 1700s felt a bit expensive. I don’t think I’d ever book this place again; it needs extensive remodeling.

The location was excellent, just minutes from everything and very quiet at night, and the host was very helpful. However, the steps were steep and dangerous, the TV didn’t work properly, the whole place was damp with a damp smell, and all our clothes got damp over the four nights. It was very dirty, with grime and cobwebs everywhere, and the photos show dodgy electrics, damp patches, and mouldy plaster. This is not a luxury apartment worth €200 plus a night; it’s a mouldy dark bedsit that’s only okay at best, and it was very disappointing.

The host was lovely, kept me well informed and communicated well. The location is perfect and central, close to all the sights. Mary‑Grace helped me with check‑in and check‑out and was amazing, making us feel right at home.

The location was amazing, the owner was very friendly, and they even had a box of “things you may have forgotten to bring” that was super handy. I also loved that they gave recommendations. The place was clean, but I think the bedding should be replaced with new sheets. The TV wouldn’t connect to Wi‑Fi, but we were out most of the time so it wasn’t a big deal. If we had contacted about the TV, they would have fixed it.
