“A Raw, Nature-Filled Stay Made Special by Yoell 🌿❤️”
A raw, nature-filled stay made special by Yoell. Our arrival at Liyon Hotel was definitely an experience! The initial trail up to the hotel scared us a little, but the panoramic views surrounding the property quickly put us at ease. When we got there, we saw what seemed to be just one person running the entire show – our host, Yoell! He was literally running up and down the floors, getting our room ready, checking on things and making sure everything was in place. Despite handling everything himself, he was calm, humble and welcoming. We stayed for just one day, but that was enough for Yoell to leave a lasting impression. He introduced us to our first authentic Sri Lankan breakfast, and wow, what a treat! As a vegetarian, I was initially skeptical about what I would find, but that first bite proved me wrong – it was absolutely delicious and a wonderful introduction to Sri Lankan cuisine. Because the hotel is located along a relatively raw trail surrounded by nature, you can expect a few of nature’s little visitors, especially at night. We had a few bugs in our room, and on three different occasions we called Yoell to help us out. Every time, he came without hesitation and took care of it. He also went out of his way to arrange transport to the famous Nine Arch Bridge and later organize our journey down south to Dikwella. These little things made a big difference to our stay. Yoell is genuinely a gem of a person – humble, helpful and always ready to make sure his guests have the best possible experience. If you’re looking for a polished, conventional hotel experience, the location and natural surroundings may take some getting used to.
