Marianne is a friendly and very helpful person, you feel at home. The garden at Marianne was surprisingly green despite the summer drought, which was really special. If you’re looking for something cozier than a hotel, Marianne delivers. The house is clean and the breakfast at Hotel Albergo is excellent, and the hotel itself is beautiful. The hotel staff are also very friendly and have a good relationship with Marianne. The rooms are nice, though only one of the two has a fully equipped balcony, and you don’t know if you’ll get the balcony room when you book. Our room had a narrow balcony about 1 m wide with a view of the street. The surroundings are dreamy. Unfortunately, the room was too hot and we couldn’t sleep well; a fan or portable AC would have been gold.

We first stayed here seven years ago and came back because we loved it. The place is just amazing – so calm and quiet. Every morning you can hear the birds in the garden, which is a perfect, magical way to start the day.

Beautiful stay in Astano, a tiny village in the Malcantone area of Ticino. Marianne welcomed us with such warmth that we felt right at home from the get-go. Absolutely recommend it.

Astano is a very pretty spot – quiet, peaceful. Marianne’s house feels like a dream; the room is cozy, the terrace is great for chilling out, and of course Marianne herself is a highlight.

“A quaint and quiet stay in the heart of Astano”

Talking with Marianne was a breeze – we’re both French speakers. The auberge is tucked away on a narrow street in Astano, with lovely landscaping and a picturesque garden. It’s a short walk to two restaurants and there’s one parking spot on site. The breakfast on the first day was beautiful, and the next morning we had a lovely local hotel’s garden breakfast next door. The bedrooms sit on the top floor, a couple of flights up, separate from Marianne’s quarters.
