I really liked the location and the hospitality. We were warmly welcomed. Every staff member and the owners were attentive to our needs. The Lodge car picked us up at the pier and took us on a tour of the Museum of Biology. We are very grateful for the stay.

We stayed for three nights and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Marlene, her husband, and the whole team make you feel completely at home from the moment you arrive. They’re warm, attentive, and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. They coordinated our daily activities, packed us sandwiches for every excursion, and served lovely breakfasts and dinners. They even included breakfast on our first day, which we weren’t expecting—a nice surprise! The sunsets from the property are incredible, and the five resident dogs are an added bonus! They greet you in the morning and welcome you back every time you return. There are plenty of tours and activities you can book directly through the lodge, which makes things very easy. Other than that, it was a fantastic stay. We will definitely be back. One thing to flag: the toilet door doesn’t offer full privacy, so worth keeping in mind.

The friendliness and attentiveness of the hosts and staff were outstanding. The service, whether it was picking you up from the boat or the excursions offered, was phenomenal. The dinner was delicious. And we liked the location and the family vibe. We’ll come back 🙂 The coffee didn’t quite hit our taste.

The owners stay on the property and proved to be attentive hosts making you feel at home. If you expect a 5‑star beach resort then pay up and rather go to Mauritius. This is rustic Moz‑style laid‑back island living and Kanimambo is your best base. It has comfortable fully equipped wooden cabins with air‑con, shower, and fridge. The hosts will arrange to take you to fantastic swimming and snorkeling beaches at reasonable cost. Overall good value for money. Nothing really—I got what I expected at the price.
