They were very helpful with secure storage for our bikes. The room was comfortable, and we appreciated the shortbread and decent tea and coffee. Breakfast was good with hot food cooked to order. The bathroom was small and showing age and condensation effects. The bin had not been emptied and the toilet holder was broken, but these were very minor issues that did not detract from our experience.

The staff are excellent and the surroundings are comfortable. There is no shaver socket in the bathroom, no mirror near the hair‑dryer socket, and the space for toiletries is very limited.

The spot near Rutland Water was great, but the constant traffic from the main road kept me from opening the windows at night. The staff were fantastic and breakfast was delicious, though the restaurant food felt pricey. We told the hotel about a leaking shower screen where it meets the bath; the fix with mastic was poor and the leak came back the next day, which meant water started piling up in the room below since we were on the first floor.
