The staff were very friendly, the cuisine was solidly traditional, and breakfast was good. The selection matched the hotel’s category. It’s centrally located, close to the train station, and a nice overnight stay for hikes in the Emmental/Entlebuch.

The place has that classic, cozy village vibe and feels like the town’s natural gathering spot. You can hear the church bells ringing from across the street, which adds a nice charm. The bathroom was tidy, though it could do with a bit of a facelift.

We loved the spot right on the main road with plenty of parking, and it was a perfect launchpad for mountain hikes or a quick hour‑long drive to Lake Thun. The rooms and décor, however, show their age and could use a makeover, and the toiletries felt pretty basic. Breakfast was the biggest let‑down – instead of local farm fare we got the usual supermarket‑style spread, which felt out of place in such a scenic setting.

Staff were friendly and the breakfast spread was solid, plus the lift worked without a hitch. The building itself is quite old, and the restaurant still allows smoking, which was a bit off-putting.
